By Now you started SeeLogo and did a few exercises. I want to know how is your learning going so far. Is it too easy, too difficult? Is there anything else you want to say

I'm pleasantly surprised. What a fun program! Being able to play around with it for a bit has made it seem far less intimidating than it seemed at first. I'm sure the commands get more complex, but I can't wait to see the intricate patterns and designs that we can create together as a class.
As of right now things seem good. I have not had a chance to explore the program on my own yet but hopefully will sometime before tomorrow. I think it's going to be fun to learn how all of this works :)
Because I am helping Dani, I got a bit of a running start on the assignments. What amazes me the most is the way that the right-brained work complements the left-brained work and they start working in harmony. I've been able to solve problems and I'm not even sure how I "knew." I love each new challenge. Kind of scary at first, but after a short time, mastery! The trick will be to remember cumulatively. I suggested that we put together a few sheets with definitions of the operators. When Dani did that today, and I edited it and printed it out, it seemed that it will be a handy thing for all of us to put next to our computers to help jog the memory.
It is a good program. At first I did not see the math connection but as I started to work through I saw the connection being everything about math. I was getting a little frustrated in the beginning because things were not going as wanted them to but then I learned I had the wrong version of the program so now I am hoping things will get better and I am looking forward to the rest of the week.
JENNIFER says: I keep surprising myself as I continue to use SeeLogo. So far I have encountered some minor problems, but through experimentation have been able to reach the right formulas. I especially like how forgiving the editor is in that there reallyis no way to completely mess up a work in progress. The lay out is extremely user friendly and most of the time with computers I am hesitant to experiment because of unforeseen actions that may occur, but not with SeeLogo.
I think learning SeeLogo is a matter of trial and error until you find the perfect commands. For example, the yin yang project we did yesterday - I got there but through a big series of steps, while others got there through just a couple. They all work, but some are more (as we said) elegant than others. SeeLogo is very time consuming, and there is a decent amount of difficulty for now. However I’m up for more of a challenge (and fun J) as we progress…

I like the program and I really like that there are multiple ways to come up with the same answer. I have to admit that I'm having some trouble in the area of figuring out what is due and when and where. The lessons give activities and I'm not sure if the activities need to be submitted in addition to the quizzes and assignments. I'm sure the logistical aspect of this will be clarified, but outside of that I really enjoy the class and the lessons.
I also agree with Caitlin in that it is very time consuming, especially since we're not experts and we're relying on a trial and error method to produce results.
I really like the program, mainly the fact that we can be creative... and that there are colors :) I haven't had a chance to really get into it yet, so I'm hoping I don't get lost along the way!
I am surprise by the creative of the program. I had problems getting started but it is ease to understand. I have worked with other programs and this is by far the easiest.

So far, I do not think it is much difficult than I expected. But, I'm sure it is just the beginning. Yes, it is kind of fun to command these figures.
